COURSE DESCRIPTION
The GMR 2(1) Machinery Supervisor & Management Systems course provides learners
training on the key requirements of the Operational Health and Safety Act pertaining to the safe use of plant and machinery. It covers the implementation of the necessary measures and how to manage them. Learners are also trained on the legal requirements in terms of the machinery regulations.

COURSE OUTCOMES
The learner will be capable of:
Describe the legal requirements of the General Machinery Regulations.
Understand the role and duties of the GMR 2 (1) Appointee and what is defined as a competent person as per the GMR.
Understand the legal requirements pertaining to the safeguarding and operation of machinery.
Describe the safety requirements regarding the work on moving or electrically alive machinery and devices to start and stop machinery.
Understand the importance and legal requirements of reporting certain incidents in connection with machinery.
•Describe the basic elements of an effective Health and Safety Management System.
